What’s eating Gilbert Grape?

This thistle plant was in fine fettle a couple of days ago… when I looked yesterday two leaves were mere skeletons, today even more leaves got eaten… but a thorough search did not reveal the culprit?

Scotch Thistle Onopordum acanthium

I bought this plant because we have one in a small pot that has never done well, but when it does flower its very pretty. They flower between August and September so I await with baited breath, this variety is supposed to have the best flowers.

Bluebeard Caryopteris x clandonensis ‘Heavenly Blue’

We grow chives for their culinary use… but the thrift-like flowers are worthy of the garden.

Chives Allium schoenoprasum

Knapweed is grown for the pollinators… and certainly, in the fields they are a magnet for skippers and hoverflies.

Common Knapweed Centaurea nigra

A successful planting… some pots really work!

Rant it out!
