Who ate all the pies?

When they flit about I find it hard to tell a Meadow Brown from a Gatekeeper… especially without reference to judge relative size. Yesterday it was easy as I had both species present on the same plant! Today just a solitary Gatekeeper in the garden.

The only other butterflies in the garden were a number of Large Whites. Much more in evidence was the work of their progeny… several nasturtium plants have been stripped bare! Its not hard to see the culprit, they make blackfly look like amateurs!

Rant it out!
